Sustaining Our Future

ONE WASH AT A TIME

How Are We Different?

Drive & Shine has been a pioneer in sustainability within the car wash industry for almost two decades. We introduced LED efficient lighting long before it became common practice, showcasing our commitment to energy efficiency from the start. Our Lube Center has been recycling used oil to heat our buildings since day one, demonstrating our dedication to resource conservation and eco-friendly practices.

Water conservation is another area where we lead the way. We were among the first to implement water recycling technology, now using only 10% fresh water for every 200 gallons of wash water. Our advanced filtration system ensures that wash water goes through eight tanks for contaminants separation before being released, surpassing the industry standard of 1 to 4 tanks. Additionally, we responsibly handle wash solids by having them picked up by licensed haulers, ensuring proper disposal and minimizing environmental impact.

But What Are The Facts?

Our commitment to sustainability extends to the products we use. Our wash soaps are biodegradable, unlike many others in the industry that use harsh acids harmful to the environment. We also prioritize energy efficiency through measures such as light harvesting on sunny days, auto dimming, and auto-off features to minimize electricity usage. By using Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for all motors, we further reduce energy consumption and alleviate strain on utility companies.

Landscaping is another aspect of our sustainability efforts. We are passionate about green spaces and plant as many trees and bushes as possible around our facilities. Furthermore, we recycle over 80% of the water used in the car wash process, ensuring efficient use of resources. Our dedication to sustainability is evident in every aspect of our operations, from water and energy conservation to responsible waste management and eco-friendly products, making a positive impact on the environment and reducing our carbon footprint.
